Placer County Sinkhole Death

Placer County — Authorities are working to recover the body of a 27 year old man who fell into a large sinkhole that opened under his home at approximately 9:30 Friday evening in Placer County.
The sheriff´s department says the two-story home may have been sitting atop a decades-old underground mine. Recent rains could have softened the ground under the home. Rescuers had trouble reaching him because the ground began to shift.
The man´s identity has yet to be released by authorities.
