Join the Tuolumne Prescribed Burn Association (PBA) as we take a tour of local land that has benefited from good fire. Participants will be led by local landowners to see how their prescribed fire activities shape ecology, support diversity and manage fuels over time in a variety of fuel regimes.
On Sunday, August 10, we will meet up in the Sonora area for an introduction and overview of the day’s activities. From there we will caravan in personal vehicles to prescribed burn sites at various elevations from grasslands, oak woodlands and mixed conifer fire regimes in Tuolumne County. We will provide a detailed itinerary to those who register. Lunch will be provided.
Topics will include fire planning, burn piles, organizing a Prescribed Fire on your property, permitting, preparation work, Vegetation Management Plans, and local resources for landowner assistance.
Cost is $25 per participant. Scholarships are available so if cost is a barrier please let us know by emailing info@TuolumnePBA.org.
