Murphys, Ca — Participants and onlookers filled Murphys Community Park Saturday afternoon for the 14th annual Calaveras Grape Stomp sponsored by the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance.
The event continues to grow in size and popularity. Organizer Donna Schantz says the size of the stage was increased this year, and there were 12 heats instead of the traditional 10.
One thing that remained the same was the top team.
The “Cluster Busters,” comprised of Ron Lawrence and Alan Hofman of Murphys took home the top prize for the third consecutive year.
Going on just one block away was the 16th annual Gold Rush Street Faire.
There were approximately 100 booths with antiques, arts and crafts, jewelry, clothing and food.
