Nominations Open For Best Of Tuolumne County Awards
Sonora, CA — The first of October is the deadline for nominations for the Best of Tuolumne County Awards.
The four catagories are Citizen of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Excellence in Government and Teacher of the Year. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO George Segarini says the general public can nominate candidates for any of the four catagories. Once the deadline is reached the Board of Directors of the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce will hold a secret vote to determine the winners.
The Annual Installation Honors Banquet is set for Thursday, November 15th at the Sonora Elks Lodge.
Last year´s Citizen of the year was Ray Emerald. Entrepreneur of the Year honors went to Pam Jones. Sonora City Administrator Greg Applegate captured the Excellence in Government Award and Summerville High School´s Wayne deGennaro (now retired after 38 years on the job) was named as Teacher of the Year.
