Lick Fire Close To Containment
Sacramento, CA — A Monday morning update on the two fires that have inundated the Mother Lode with smoke during the past week demonstrates that one fire is almost fully contained.
The Lick Fire in Santa Clara County is now 95% contained. Full containment is expected today. This “human caused” fire in remote areas of Hency Coe State Park near Mt. Hamilton has burned 48,000 acres. Cost to date; $7.8 million.
The Moonlight Fire in Plumas County has now burned a little more than 62,000 acres. Containment is 15%. Two residences and one outbuilding have been destroyed. Cause of this fire remains under investigation. Cost to date; $10.6 million.
