Oakdale Man Arrested In Jamestown Following Scuffle
Jamestown, Ca — 22-year-old Ricky Joseph Chavez of Oakdale was arrested in Jamestown Wednesday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
Two deputies were on foot patrol at 10:51pm, and they noticed a group of people standing near 7th Street and Maple Alley. When Chavez saw the deputies, he reportedly threw two bags onto the ground and ran. The deputies were able to recover only one of the bags. Inside of it, they found a small amount of methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
The deputies chased and caught Chavez nearby. He resisted as the deputies fought to control and arrest him. They used pepper spray to get him to comply and into custody. The deputies and Chavez received numerous scratches and abrasions during the scuffle. The Sheriff´s Department says that none were serious. Chavez was booked and later released on $10,000 bail.
