Hwy 108 Fire Safe Council To Meet At Columbia Air Base Tonight
Columbia, CA — The Hwy 108 Fire Safe Council will conduct a six o´clock open-to- the-public meeting at the Columbia Air Base this evening.
Stanislaus National Forest Spokesman Pat Kaunert says CAL FIRE officials will showcase the Columbia Air Attack Base and its 50 year history featuring a slide presentation and a site tour of the aerial firefighting facility.
Agancy officials will also be on hand to discuss California Public Resources Code 4291 requirements to ensure a 100-foot defensible space around homes and sturctures and local community projects designed to reduce flammable fuels in the area.
The Air Base can be accessed by turning off Parrotts Ferry Rd. onto North Airport Rd. Proceed one-quarter mile until you reach the CAL FIRE sign and the automatic gate on the left side of the road.
