Emerald Reported In Fair Condition

Modesto, CA — 42 year old Ray Emerald is reported to be in “fair” condition at Doctor´s Medical Center in Modesto.
Last year´s Tuolumne County Citizen of the Year at the annual Chamber of Commerce dinner was involved in a two vehicle accident at approximately 3:30 Friday afternoon when 67 year old Margo Meierbachtol of Groveland, driving southbound Jacksonville Rd., crossed over the double yellow center line and hit Emerald´s pickup headon. Meierbachtol was killed.
Emerald was airlifted from the scene with reported head injuries. A fulltime employee at the Hetch Hetchy Water and Power Plant, Emerald is also girls´ fastpitch softball coach at Summerville High School.
