Moccasin, CA — San Francisco officials are moving forward with plans to upgrade the Hetch Hetchy Water System.
Mayor Gavin Newsom signed a bill Friday that appropriates $1.9 billion for the $4.4 billion Water System Improvement Program.
The system draws water from the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir in Tuolumne County. The Associated Press says that improvements are scheduled to be made to the pipelines, tunnels, dams and pump stations.
