Sacramento, Ca — The California Senate and Assembly passed a series of bills Friday that will enable the state to reduce spending by more than $1 billion.
During Senator Dave Cox´s weekly capital report, he said this is a step in the right direction but more needs to be done.
“With this week´s action, lawmakers are doing what many families throughout the state are doing with their household budgets,” says Cox. Unfortunately, this action only deals with the current year cash flow. We are not addressing next year´s budget crisis.”
Cox goes on to say that the Legislature must begin serious discussions now, and that the debates should not be delayed until summer.
