Lawmakers Recognize Upcoming Calaveras Frog Jump
Sacramento, Ca — In an effort to recognize the upcoming Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee, lawmakers took a break during the noon hour today to square off in the 34th annual Capital Frog Jump.
“This lighthearted lunchtime tradition is a fun way for elected officials to come together and help promote the Calaveras County Fair,” said Senator Dave Cox.
In the Legislative and Public category, Assemblyman Jim Beall, Jr. (D-San Jose) took first prize. His frog “Alcohops” jumped 9´ 2”.
Secretary of State Debra Bowen´s “Tad Poll Worker” leaped 10´ 2” to take first place in the Constitutional Officers Category.
The Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee is set for Wednesday, May 14th through Sunday, May 18th.
