S.C.C. Investigating Stabbing

Sponsored by:

Jamestown, CA — Prison officials are investigating a stabbing that occurred late last week at the Sierra Conservation Center.

Lt. Kevin Wise says inmate Christian Soto was injured after being stabbed by inmate Francisco Lopez. Soto was taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center for injuries to his left forearm, lower back and neck. The injuries are not life threatening.

Lt. Wise says the fight was a one-on-one altercation. The suspect reportedly used two items to stab Soto. One was a toe nail clipper and the other was a toothbrush handle that had a razor blade attached from a personal razor.

The incident is still under investigation.
