Bridge Near Yosemite Will Be Rehabilitated

Sponsored by:

Tuolumne County is moving forward with plans to rehabilitate a bridge on Evergreen Road near the Carlon Day Use area.

Evergreen Road is used by many as a backdoor entrance into Yosemite National Park via Hetch Hetchy, and is often utilized by workers from the City of San Francisco PUC and the National Park Service.

The county will receive funding for the estimated $640K project from the Federal Highway Bridge Program. The project includes placing the existing concrete bridge deck surface, and pouring a new deck. Contractors have until February 3rd to bid on the project.

The bridge has been noticeably deteriorating in recent years.
