Vehicle Release Fee Eliminated
Sonora, CA — Last night the Sonora City Council voted to eliminate the vehicle release fees paid when cars are towed away during city sponsored events.
It will no longer cost $220 to retrieve your vehicle if it is towed away during special events like the Christmas Parade, Magic of the Night and the Mother Lode Roundup Parade.
The Board denied a request by the Mother Lode Fair to give a financial contribution as part of the fair’s long term sustainability plan. The City will continue to offer in-kind donations, such as extra enforcement and use of a message board.
The Council reappointed Chris Garnin and John Richardson to the City’s Planning Commission.
