Jamestown, CA — The CHP is releasing the names of the victims in the Highway 108/120 triple fatal crash. The three people killed in the crash are 59 year old Alan Lee Maderos, 65 year old Kathleen Elane Maderos, both of Manteca, and 51 year old Claude Gosselin of Roseville. The CHP reports 57 year old Nancy Gallegos of Roseville is in critical condition suffering from major blunt force trauma injuries.

The wreck happened just after three Saturday afternoon between the Yosemite turn-off and east of O’Byrnes Ferry Road. The CHP says Alan Maderos was driving a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner going about 55 mph westbound. They say for unknown reasons he drifted into the path of a 1999 Acura driven by Gosselin going eastbound. The CHP report states, “Neither party had time to take evasive actions and both vehicles collided head-on.” Fire fighters had to free Gosselin who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP Officer Brad Schultz says, “The crash is still under investigation. We are still trying to piece together exactly what caused Maderos to swerve into oncoming traffic. We are taking to eye witnesses as well. At this point, there is no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved, but we’ll know more after the autopsies and we get the toxicology reports.”

The highway was shut down for 30 minutes while two air-ambulances landed and took off. The roadway was down to one-way controlled traffic for an hour as the accident debris was cleared.
