Sacramento, CA – The Associated Press reports the state controller’s office has fired the company working on overhauling the state’s payroll system.
Controller John Chiang gave out the pink slip saying the work is flawed and has become increasingly more expensive. The Controller’s office says because the error rate “is incredible”, the 1,300 state employees testing the new system will return to the old system immediately. The AP says the state is trying to get reimbursed for the $50 million it paid the SAP Company.
