City Awaits Possible Recreation Facility Grant
Sonora city officials are hoping to build the city´s first ever public trail and open space area. Planners wish to construct the Dragoon Gulch Trail Project. The plan is to build hiking trails and rest areas on the 35 acre Glover Property, located in the northwest corner of the city.
Officials are waiting for a decision from the Harris Nonurbanized Competitive Grant Program. Funds through the program may be used to buy property and develop it into recreation projects. The city should be notified in the Spring to whether the grant request is accepted.
