San Diego is expected to be one of the most popular destinations for California travelers over the holidays. A report from the Auto Club says nearly 4-million people just from Southern California say they´ll be traveling by car over the holidays.
According to a survey of Triple A travel agents, San Diego is the fourth most popular destination. The list is led by Las Vegas, San Francisco and Baja California. San Diego is listed ahead of Palm Springs. The Auto Club says motorists will be paying 30 cents to 50 cents more per gallon of gas than they were last year. That´s because in late 2001 a “price war” saw gas prices fall to below one-dollar a gallon in some areas.
