Olympic Bid Goes To NYC

The U.S. Olympic Committee has picked New York City as its candidate to host the 2012 Summer Games. New York beat San Francisco in the final round of USOC voting. The announcement came out of USOC headquarters in Colorado.

The head of the USOC says New York received more than 130 votes out of about 220. New York City will compete against other world cities for the 2012 Games. The final vote is in 2005. The field could include Toronto, Rome, Paris, Moscow and Rio.
