A trial over the ownership of Barry Bonds´ 73rd home run ball is set to start on Tuesday.
San Francisco Superior Court Judge Kevin McCarthy had hoped Alex Popov and Patrick Hayashi would settle with the help of a mediator. But they couldn´t, so they´ll have to go to trial.
Popov claims to have caught Bonds´ record-setting home run hit, only to have it wrestled from his grip by the crowd. Hayashi emerged with the ball.
