Columbia College Offers Computer Classes
Columbia College Community Education is offering four short-term basic computer classes at the Advanced Technology Training Center (ATTC), located at 14647 Mono Way in the Hillsdale Shopping Center in East Sonora.
Space is still available in the following: Internet Basics – Discover how easy it is to use Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer to send email and do Internet research. Class meets on two Saturdays, Nov. 15 and 22, from 9 a.m. to noon. Beginning Microsoft Word – Master this popular word processing program. Class meets on Tuesday and Thursday, Nov. 18 and 20, from 9 a.m. – noon. Computer Basics for Seniors – Basic computer skills will be taught including use of the mouse and navigating the Windows operating system. No previous experience is required for this class, which meets on two Tuesdays, Nov. 25 and Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. – noon.
Computer Basics for First Time Users – Learn how to use the mouse, the difference between a floppy and hard drives, hardware and software, and how to navigate the Windows operating system. Class meets on two Saturdays, Nov. 29 and Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. – noon.
Microsoft Word Beyond Basics – Move into more advanced use of Microsoft Word, exploring features of mail merge, address labels, tables, newsletters, WordArt, and the insertion of pictures and graphics in documents. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word required. Class meets on two Saturdays, Dec. 13 and 20, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Class fees range from $41 to $51 for these computer courses, taught by Ron Schenone at the college´s ATTC facility. Parking is available at the door of the classroom for the convenience of those with disabilities.
