Illegal Fireworks Seized In Bay Area

Police have arrested two men and seized 2,200 pounds of illegal fireworks at an auto body shop in Hayward.
The discovery Wednesday came just hours after Alameda County Sheriff Charles Plummer pledged to show “no mercy” in dealing with fireworks lawbreakers. The county´s bomb squad removed 77 cases of fireworks. They also took 37 empty fireworks cases, inventory sheets, and $3,000 in alleged proceeds.
