Tuolumne County Supervisors have approved a plan for financial recovery at the county run hospital here.
Tuolumne General Hospital has been a financial drain on the county, and Supervisor Dick Pland says the new plan is a good one because it outlines specific goals. Among other things, the plan approved today reduces salary expenses, expands long-term care, and reorganizes funding for the Visiting Nurses Association.
Even with the changes, the county will still have to come up with $2.7 million. County officials will present ideas on how to do that later this month.
TGH has borrowed $6 million and used $11 million from the county general fund over the past six years.
