Tree Sitters Back In Trees

Sponsored by:

Tree sitters have reoccupied two majestic redwoods in a forest near Freshwater, less than a day after climbers hired by Pacific Lumber removed activists from the trees.

Humboldt County sheriff´s spokeswoman Brenda Gainey says the new tree sitters replaced two women brought down from their aerial perches yesterday and arrested. Sitters continued to occupy 16 other trees in the area.

Jeny Card of Arcata, who goes by the name Remedy, was released on ten thousand dollars bail this morning. The other woman arrested, she calls herself Wren, remained in jail.

Pacific Lumber spokesman Jim Branham said climbers would be removing other sitters today.
