Forest Service Rethinks Logging

The U.S. Forest Service is rethinking a large-scale study of logging´s effects on the California spotted owl and other species that depend on mature forests. The service will speed up logging on about 183,000 acres in two northern California national forests. But the logging will be driven by the need to control devastating the wildfires.
