Friday Containment For Tuolumne Fire
Authorities don´t expect to have a wildfire near Yosemite National Park contained until late Friday.
A dispatcher with the California Department of Forestry says the fire burning in the Stanislaus National Forest has consumed about 650 acres. The fire — about 12 miles east of the town of Groveland — is now 40 percent contained. Full containment of fire is expected around 6:00 Friday evening.
Forest Service says there are 594 fire personnel working the fire.
Sunday, one CDF firefighter was killed and six others injured when they were overrun by the fire in a rugged area of the forest.
The Hetch Hetchy powerlines in the area were scheduled to be re-energized at 9 a.m. today.
