Bill Jones Gets Support From McCain

U-S Senate candidate Bill Jones got some campaign help today from Senator John McCain.

At a Beverly Hills fund-raiser McCain touted Jones as a strong and fair leader who would work with President Bush to improve national security and increase military pay.

McCain said: “I believe that President Bush needs people like Bill Jones.”

McCain is the latest in a series of top Republicans to stump for Jones that included former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani and Vice President Dick Cheney.

Despite the help, Jones has failed to generate traction among voters.

The latest Field poll found 48 percent of likely voters supported Boxer compared to 32 percent for Jones.
