Peterson Trial: Juror Dismissed, Deliberations Restart
The judge in the Scott Peterson double-murder trial is ordering the jury to go back to square one today.
A woman was kicked off the panel yesterday on the fifth day of deliberations.
A source close to the case tells The Associated Press she apparently disobeyed the judge´s orders to consider only the evidence presented at the trial.
The juror was a retired Pacific Gas and Electric Company employee.
She was replaced by a woman in her 30´s who works in a bank.
Legal analysts say it´s unlikely the new juror could get the other eleven to change their opinions after they´ve already deliberated for five days.
But defense attorneys will likely cite the juror switch on appeal if Peterson is convicted.
