Calaveras Visitors Bureau Takes Over County Film Commission
San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras Visitors Bureau has assumed the responsibilities of operating the newly formed Calaveras County Film Commission .
The board says it was a logical choice to place the commission under the auspices of the visitor´s bureau because it gives the bureau another tool to promote Calaveras County as a destination location.
Executive Director Lisa Reynolds says landing a big production in Calaveras County would lead to heightened publicity and an increase in tourism.
She also adds that such a production would have a positive impact on the county´s economy.
Among the tasks the film commission seeks to accomplish this year are the launching of a new website, a promotional DVD and a Film Calaveras brochure.
It will also look at streamlining the film permit process.
