Senate Votes To Reinstate Ban On Piercing Minors Without Parental Permission

Sacramento, CA — Legislation reinstating a ban on body piercing of minors without parental permission has been approved by the state Senate.
The measure by Assemblywoman Sharon Runner of Lancaster would restore a ban that expired on January 1st.
The bill would make it an infraction punishable by a fine of up to $250 to perform body piercing on most of the parts of the body of a person under age 18 without the permission of a parent or guardian.
Ear piercing would be exempt. Today´s 35-nothing vote returned the bill to the Assembly for a vote on Senate amendments.
