Sonora Catholics Pray For Pope

The Vatican says the Pope is improving but he will remain hospitalized for the duration of the week.
Prayers and blessings for Pope John Paul have been recited at churches around the world. Father Christopher with Saint Patrick´s Cathedral in Sonora says mass has been very well attended recently and the church´s congregation has offered several prayers for the Pope. Father Christopher says a Pope remains in the exalted position for the duration of his life, unless he decides to voluntarily step down because of poor health or for other reasons. A new Pope is selected by ballot by the Church´s Cardinals. There are 14 Cardinals in the U.S. and approximately 200 worldwide.
