SACRAMENTO (AP) __ Sacramento County prosecutors WON´T file charges against a man suspected of tearing down a couple´s roof-top anti-Iraq war protest.

Authorities say there´s insufficient evidence of vandalism to the effigy of a U-S soldier hanging from the home of Stephen and Virginia Pearcy.

The effigy is a soldier´s uniform with helmet, gloves and signs critical of the Bush administration.

It stirred protests from military supporters who viewed it as disrespectful to U-S troops and have twice pulled it down. Prosecutors also declined to press charges for the second incident, saying they could not identify a suspect.
