Stanislaus County Trying to Recover Peterson Costs

Modesto´s police department and the Stanislaus County district attorney´s office are trying to recover money they spent on the case against Scott Peterson. The agencies are taking their bid to the legislature next month. Police officers say they spent about $1 million on the investigation. The county is tacking another $500,000 to that amount — the cost of sequestering jurors and providing extra security.
