Douglas Flat, CA — Police are investigating another fatal car accident in Calaveras County.
CHP spokesman Brian Duquesnel says an unidentified 15-year-old unlicensed male juvenile from Sonora was traveling east bound on Highway 4 near Douglas Flats in a Toyota SUV at about 6:45 this morning.
Duquesnel says the juvenile pulled into the oncoming lane to execute what appeared to be a pass when he collided with a 2005 Dodge Magnum driven by 59-year-old Larry Cornish of Murphys.
The two reportedly made impact at full speed, resulting in fatal injuries to the juvenile and moderate injuries to Cornish.
Duquesnel says the juvenile was taken to Angels Memorial Chapel. Cornish was transported to Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital suffering from a broken right foot and a fractured left collar bone.
