Sonora, Ca — With the Thanksgiving Holiday coming up later this week, the C.H.P. has some tips for travelers.
Officer Tom Wills says the first is to take a good look at your vehicle. He says you want to make sure to check your tires and oil level. If you are going to the high country, make sure you have the proper chains. Wills also advises that you bring along some extra food in case there are any delays.
Wills notes that Thanksgiving is one of the deadliest holidays of the year. In order to make sure traffic is flowing smoothly, they will have a maximum enforcement period beginning Wednesday.
Extra officers will be looking for things such as impaired drivers and seat belt violators.
