Juvenile Struck By Vehicle

Sponsored by:

Sonora, Ca — There was a vehicle versus pedestrian accident Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Greenley Rd. and Mono Way in Sonora.

Police Lt. Mark Stinson says it involved a 16 year old male juvenile. Traveling from east to west, he attempted to cross Greenley Rd. at around 2:30pm. Instead of going to the intersection and crossing at the light, the juvenile ran through the traffic.

The juvenile was struck by a 2003 Toyota being operated by Bianca Marion, 25, of Sonora. The force of the impact threw the juvenile into the back of a 2004 Hyundai SUV, which was stopped in the other traffic lane of Greenley Rd.

Stinson says the individual, whose name is not being released because he is a minor, suffered some road rash and possibly a broken leg.

He was transported to an area hospital.
