Yankee Hill Fire Is 90% Contained; Full Containment By 5pm

Columbia, Ca -- CAL Fire officials say the 100 plus acre Yankee Hill vegetation fire on Italian Bar Rd. is 90% contained.

Spokesperson Lisa Williams says the agency is now estimating full containment by 5pm this evening.

Williams says three firefighters have reported injuries as a result of fighting the blaze. One had a fractured right arm, another had a minor ankle injury, and the third was a minor foot injury.

Earlier today, there were voluntary evacuations in the area of Italian Bar Rd, and Williams says nothing has changed on that front. She also has not been made aware of any structures being affected by the fire.

The fire broke out at 11pm Wednesday evening near an illegal marijuana grow. The circumstances surrounding the cause are still under investigation.
