Calaveras County, CA -- Halloween this year in Calaveras County is being used as a way to raise money for some worthy causes.
Friday night from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Michelson Elementary School gym the parents club will host a Halloween carnival. Admission is a bag of candy or small toy, which will be used as carnival game prizes. There will also be a haunted house. Money raised gets put back into the club. Saturday the house will be rocking at the San Andreas Town Hall with a benefit concert for the Calaveras High School Music Program. The Oktoberfest themed dinner and concert will go from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for kids 11 and under. Proceeds from the dinner and a raffle will subsidize music program costs and contribute towards end of the year scholarships for music students. For more information contact 772-2233.
And finally Sunday will be the last day to pick a pumpkin at the Greenhorn Creek Resort Pumpkin Patch. Hours of operation are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Mark Twain Elementary School Science Camp.
