Sacramento, CA -- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is under fire by the state's parents and teachers for his education budget.
Nearly 1500 parents, students and teachers from all over California rallied at the State Capitol yesterday to protest the governor's decision not to restore $2 billion that was borrowed last year from mandated education funds. A Schwarzenegger spokesman says the governor has increased education funding by $3 billion in his proposed budget and plans to repay the $2 billion over 15 years.
He says that any further increase would seriously cut into other programs, such as health and human services.
