Sonora, CA — Thursday a number of local law enforcement agencies conducted a Zero Tolerance Day on Highway 49 from the Tuolumne County line to Interstate 80.
The C.H.P. covered a forty mile stretch of Highway 49 from Tuolumne County to Amador County. The final tally; 39 citations for speeding (the top speed was 84mph) and three seat belt violations. How tough was the C.H.P? One motorist was ticketed for going 59mph in a 55mph zone.
Angels Camp police added 20 citations to the total.
