Calaveras Supervisors Take No Action On Term Limit Proposal
San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors has decided to take no action on a proposal that would impose term limits on certain county officials.
At yesterday´s board meeting the supervisors were advised of their options as to how to respond to a potential ballot measure initiated by Jake Wallace of Dorrington.
Wallace has suggested a limit of two four-year terms for several public offices, including the auditor-controller, clerk-recorder, sheriff and district attorney.
The proposal follows numerous complaints filed by Dorrington against county officials and departments after he was ordered to close down a school and group home he was operating.
The proposed measure does not include term limits for the board of supervisors.
