Robbery Suspect In Custody

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — One of the suspects in a November robbery at the Sonora Oaks Best Western has turned herself into authorities.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department says the robbery was carried out by 23 year old Yolanda Shalise Martinez, and 28 year old Ivan Zamudio Rodriguez. The two ex-employees brandished a handgun, forced a worker into a back room, and stole $800 in cash and a digital camera.

Earlier this week, Martinez turned herself in at the Turlock Police Station. She has been transported to Tuolumne County to face the charges. Her companion, Rodriguez, is still outstanding.

The Sheriff´s Department does not have any additional details as to why Martinez turned herself into law enforcement.
