School Measures Fall Short

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA – Two school bond measures in Tuolumne County fell short of garnering the needed amount of votes Tuesday.

Measure H, which would have helped fund improvements at Sonora Elementary School, received 54.2 percent approval. Because it is a school bond measure, it required 55 percent approval in order to pass.

Measure G, a bond measure for improvements at Summerville High School, received 53.3 percent approval, also falling just short of the 55 percent needed. The percentages could potentially change once the final absentee and provisional ballots are counted in the coming days. Overall voter turnout in Tuolumne County was 61 percent.
