A Unique Plan For Tuolumne County
Sonora, CA– Tuolumne County’s 5-Year Strategic Plan was the focus of a meeting held at the Tuolumne County Library Thursday evening.
Hosted by the Tuolumne County Citizens for Responsible Growth, County Administrator Craig Pedro was the featured guest. Pedro says the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors has reviewed public input received from last year’s community meetings and public surveys.
According to Pedro, employment opportunities and economic development were just two of the top concerns and priorities of Tuolumne County residents.
“Tonight we discussed how that information had been used both in our budgeting processes and in some of the things that the residents had expressed interest in,” said Pedro. “We will go ahead and begin with the board developing a draft of vision, mission and value statements that will provide the main points in developing a future strategic plan. We’ll finish a draft plan to take out to public meetings again in each district, take input from the public again, modify it and hopefully adopt it.”
Pedro says it will be the first time in Tuolumne County history to ever have vision, mission and value statements and a 5-year Strategic Plan.
Work on the Strategic Plan will tentatively begin in late February or early March, continue into the summer and be completed by the end of the year.
