Linoberg Street Closed For The Holiday Season
Sonora, CA — Linoberg Street in Sonora was closed today and will remain closed through the Holiday Season. The Santa’s Workshop building has been located in the center of Linoberg street set back from Washington Street. The location was changed from its traditional location at Courthouse Park to protect grass that was planted in April of this year.
As usual Santa will be available to talk with children and for photos this weekend and at the Workshop on Sunday December 10th from Noon to 2:30PM. His full schedule includes being available weekdays from 3PM to 5PM through Friday December 23. Rachelle Kellogg, Community Development Director, says the street will reopen the week after New Year’s Day.
As reported here the Sonora City Council has discussed recommendations from the Vision Sonora Committee about hiring a firm to study the potential impacts to traffic in Sonora if Linoberg is shut down permanently and turned into a “pedestrian paseo.”
