Vandals Strike Frogtown
Angels Camp, CA — The Calaveras County Fair is losing money due to recent vandalism.
Fair Manager Laurie Giannini says there have been several unfortunate incidents over the past several months. One involved breaking into Mark Twain Hall and spraying three large fire extinguishers around the room. Staff had to spend an extended time cleaning up the mess.
Most recently, $2,000 in damage was done when someone tampered with a locked sewer monitoring device.
“It’s just tough for us, because we have a very limited budget,” says Giannini. “We would like to spend that money someplace else, like improving the grounds, adding more entertainment, or new programs for kids.”
Giannini is asking that anyone with information about the vandalism to call her at 209-736-2561 ext. 6.
