It´s big game day.
For the 84th time, the Sonora Wildcats face the Oakdale Mustangs tonight, and once again the Valley Oak League championship is on the line.
Sonora Coach Robert Cendro said his team has been preparing for Oakdale trickery.
“We know that they like to run a lot of trick plays and they run a lot of formations and they do a lot of shifting,” he said. “So we’ve done a lot of preparation for their shifting.”
Both teams are undefeated in league play, and the winner claims the VOL crown.
The rivalry began in 1922 and Oakdale leads the series 49 to 30 with five ties.
