It’s Dust, Not Smoke, Emanating From Jamestown Landfill

Mother Lode fire officials want to spread the word about a recent problem they´ve been having.
Rising dust which is kicking up from construction at the Jamestown landfill site is fooling some folks.
Residents are then calling 9-1-1 reporting smoke in the area, and firefighters are then dispatched, making them unavailable for actual fires.
If residents are concerned about the light dust they may observe on the Jamestown Landfill´s cap, or would like more information, they are encouraged to contact the Environmental Management Division at 209-533-5588 to report the dust.
