New Twist In Davis Murder Case

Sponsored by:

There´s a new twist this morning in the beating death of David Davis.

This morning Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Investigators arrested 39 year-old Sonora resident Dean Dee Phillips on charges of first degree murder in connection with the July 25th beating death of Davis.

William Nesler is currently charged in the murder of Davis. He is facing a October 15th preliminary hearing.

A sheriffs department spokesman says Phillips is a friend of Nesler and a witness to an earlier altercation between Davis and Nesler that landed Nesler in jail.

Investigators say Phillips picked up Nesler from the Tuolumne County Jail on the morning of the fatal beating, taking him to Nesler´s property on Shaws Flat Road. Authorities say Phillips is alleged to have also drove Nesler from the scene of the murder. Detectives believe Phillips was also involved in Davis´ death.
