Injury Wreck on Mono Way; Traffic Snarled

A three-vehicle wreck had drivers waiting, and CHP units, ambulances, and tow trucks hopping on Tuesday afternoon.

The accident was first reported around 1:30pm at Mono Way just above Hess Avenue, below the Mono Way Veterinary Clinic and the Sierra Market.

A white pickup truck and white sedan were two of the involved vehicles.

It´s too soon to know how the wreck occurred, but rain has been falling in the Mother Lode since the overnight hours.

Traffic was being allowed through one direction at a time, as emergency workers extricated an unknown number of patients from inside the involved vehicles.

Later on Tuesday afternoon, officials called for a county roads vehicle to bring sand, as oil or another slippery substance was reported on the roadway.
